We have been using Distinct since 2020 when we originally had them come up for a warranty repair on a furnace they did not install. Since then we have had them back a few times for additional repairs as well as some new ducts for a renovation we were doing. Everyone from the owner Nate to every tech has been amazing. Aiden recently came out and even waited for me to come home to make sure the job was to my satisfaction.

We really wish we had found this company when we intially installed our furnace and we would have likely avoided a ton of problems from the previous installers. Highly recommend them based on both their professionalism, quality of work and fair pricing!

I was not in a state of panic about my furnace. I had a 25-year-old house with a 25-year-old furnace and wanted to get an upgrade without calling a company at 3 am needing to get the new one in now.
I had information packages from a Home Show a couple of years back and called in 2 companies for a quote.
The first company in did a walk about, asked a few questions and sent me a quote with 3 different options and combinations.
Nate from Distinct showed up; on time - did a walk around, asked many questions, pointed out several issues and problems with my current set up. Nate also explained exactly what they would do, how the job would go, the remedies to the issues he revealed and how York was a quality product with a very good warranty.
Nate then went through the various products they offered – all being the York brand, and explained the differences, and the benefits of each. We spent over one 1.5 hours and only ended because I had an online meeting. Following the meeting, I had a few more phone questions, before I made the choice to go with Distinct.
Two weeks later, Nate, Christian and Jordan completed the set up on the furnace, and did the rough in on the AC. The job took two full days, with dozens of measurements, (more like hundreds) making sure all was level, aligned and was finished to look neat, compact and easy to access for future maintenance. They even made sure that if I (or a future owner) wanted to finish the basement, all the work was done to make the finishing work easier.
During the install, all three who did the work answered all my questions, seemed to actually enjoy working together and were professional, pleasant and most of all - competent.
As an additional comment, Nate went beyond the scope of the normal job and sourced and installed 3 louvered vent covers, which were quite the eye sore. When you get him in for a quote, ask him about my steel roof! Not sure he will ever go up on one in winter ever again!
Summary
Over the last 2-3 months, I have spent a great deal of time researching the various HVAC brands and products available in Calgary.
My choice came down not to the brand, for I feel most of the major brands have good product, but to the quality of the install. That is why I went with Distinct and everything I have experienced so far confirms I made the right choice.

We just had Distinct Heating and Cooling replace our two furnaces and air conditioner in our home in March. They were excellent. The two gentleman who worked on removing the old furnaces and air conditioner, and then replacing with new units were truly remarkable.

They were so thorough and meticulous in their work. It looks amazing in our furnace room. The went above and beyond our expectations. They were here for 3 full days as it was a huge job. They were super neat and tidy each day, cleaning up and putting things aside for the next day. They were organized, worked extremely hard all day and explained what was going on each morning and the progress being made. There was no wasted time, they just got to it and put in long days to get it done.

The work looks amazing. Both furnaces and the new air conditioner are so much more efficient now and we can feel the difference already with the heating system. We look forward to the cooling in the hot summer months. We also like that the new air conditioner is not a big old clunky green unit like we used to have. It's now attached to the side of the house and looks so much better.

We had originally met with the owner when we were getting quotes for this job, and we were impressed by his knowledge of what needed doing, especially as he looked around and found things the previous owner of our home had done in the basement development that needed fixing. He assured us that it would be done right and done well. He was not kidding. We know this system will serve us well for many years to come. We will continue to use Distinct for service moving forward.

We have a pretty old furnace that was intermittently failing, but Distinct was able to send Ed over and fix it right up. I was worried with past not-so friendly technicians, but they were great and always kept me notified when they would arrive. The important part was that Ed was willing to listen to my concerns despite the initial fix. He stayed around and diagnosed all other furnace issues to have it running prime until we decide to replace it in the future. Great service and handiwork! Will absolutely recommend them!

Noticed our almost 13 year old A/C unit was short cycling which resulted in high humidity levels in the house. Distinct Heating & Cooling was recommended to us so we contacted them to come and take a look. They sent Jordan over just a few days later for an assessment. Jordan was prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable about what was going on and made a few recommendations for fixing or replacing the unit. We have since met with Nate for replacement options as it made the most financial sense given the age of our current unit. Nate was very professional, and knowledgeable on all things A/C. We loved how detailed their work is, how much pride they take with their customers and installations, and that they employ journeymen mechanics who specialize in this area. ** UPDATE - DEC 5th, We had our A/C fully installed by Kristian and Jaden. They were on time, friendly and polite, plus everything was cleanly installed. Jaden explained the new Thermostat and all its features, while Kristian explained everything in the furnace room and what he did to get our new unit installed. All the improvements they made when uncovering some bad work previously done was also amazing. Their care and attention was so appreciated. We are just thrilled about our new furnace and new air-conditioner that were installed by Kristian and Jaden. Both were very quick, everything was cleanly installed and we hardly knew that they were there. They made sure that every remnant of the install and old furnace was cleaned up and all garbage taken away. Kristian made sure to explain all that was needed and showed us how everything worked. We had Distinct Heating & Cooling replace a very old furnace (42 years old in a very awkward location in basement) and add an A/C, humidifier, new Thermostat and CO2/Smoke Alarms. Nate the owner was very easy to work with and very open and receptive to our questions and concerns. His installation team of Kristian and Jaden showed up right on time all 3 days, were so very respectful to our property, so very polite and pleasant with us, and extremely patient explaining to us how all the new products work. And Nate the owner was here himself for the first morning of the work, and last morning of some of the work, a very hands on owner which we appreciated very much. We have been using Distinct Heating and Cooling for over 10 years now and we have always been very satisfied with the service they provide. Our first experience with them was helping us transfer the warranty of the furnaces to our name when we first moved into our home. Ever since then we’ve used them for our annual maintenance. They are always professional, on time, and provide exceptional service. We’ve had the same technician, Ed Garcia, doing our service for a while now which is an added bonus since he knows the maintenance history and provides recommendations that I trust. He is always very thorough and takes his time to make sure everything is running efficiently.

These guys are great. We met with Nate Burlando to discuss our air-conditioning needs. He came across his being extremely knowledgeable. Since having the air conditioner installed, we are using them for our furnace and air conditioner maintenance. The young gentlemen that come to our house are always very polite and extremely efficient. We feel very comfortable with them. I really appreciate their knowledge and professionalism. We just had Distinct Heating & Cooling come to our home to look into the thermostat issues we were having. This was installed 10 years ago along with our AC unit (which was also purchased from Distinct Heating & Cooling). From the moment we received the text that Aiden was on his way to the moment he left I felt very much taken care of. He went through the steps of trying to figure out why our thermostat wasn't working and after going through his trouble shooting, he let us know that things seemed to be working again. We fully intended on having to replace it but Aiden was very open about the fact that it may not actually need replacing and he'd hate for us to spend the money to do so when it might not need it. So instead of doing that, he ended up servicing our unit and replaced some much needed parts (Guys... if you haven't been diligent about servicing your AC unit... do it... I swear ours was about to launch itself into space before Aiden came and cleaned it up).

Aiden, thank you so much for all the information you gave us, for explaining things so clearly (and then re-explaining it when I couldn't remember certain terms, and then doing it all over again when I rendered my understanding useless and just called my hubby for you to explain it to him directly so that he'd understand).

This company responded very quickly to an issue we were having with our AC unit (our unit was quite old and installed with another company) and sent over Jordan. He was courteous, professional and very easy to deal with. Would definitely recommend this company!

I had several companies through for ideas on how best to approach my home's heating and cooling. I had two pretty new furnaces put in by a previous owner. Those were put in by Alberta Indoor Comfort and they did a terrible job and were outright unethical in their response to any challenge by me. Luckily, around the time I was about to make a decision, I found Distinct's work in a neighbour's home and was very impressed with how neat and tidy their work was...so I gave them a call and away we went. The 2 furnaces were removed, replaced by a new one, a zoning system, and a heat pump for cooling (and mild heating for now). It's as good as it gets now. Thanks to the team for their diligence and attention to detail.

Great experience with Distinct. They provide excellent customer service and are very skilled in their trade. They have installed my Air Conditioner and provided a number of other services.

Jordan came to clean and do maintenance on my A/C. The work was professionally done. He gave a great service, explained everything to me and went far and beyond on the service offered. He even setup my thermostat. This is a great service for the price. Jordan knows exactly what he is doing. I would recommand Distinct to any of my friends.

We decided it was time to install AC in the home, and Nate from Distinct came over and walked us thru the traditional AC units, or York's new Heat Pump. This being a quiet and a smaller unit not taking up a lot of real estate on the side of the house, sold us. Kristian, Aidan and Jaiden were the team to install, and were all very polite and knowledgable. They left a very clean worksite , and with a tutorial of how to work our new thermostat. Nate did a followup and sent us a checklist for maintenance of both our new heat pump and our York furnace. I will definitely will set up maintenance appointments with distinct to make sure our investment stays in tip top form . One can't go wrong with choosing Distinct and all the employees that Nate has working for him.

We had the fan on our Furnace/ AC break down Monday night in late June. I was referred to Distinct Heating and Cooling by a competitor, as the competitor was not an authorized York dealer.

I called Erin at Distinct around 9:30 AM Working with Erin was quick and straightforward and and she scheduled Aidan to come out between 2-3 PM that same day. I was thrilled to be able to secure a same-day appointment as the weather was starting to get hot.
I received a text about 30 minutes before Aidan's arrival and he arrived right on time. After assessing the issue, he determined that the furnace's ECM blower motor needed to be replaced and that he would need to go get the part. This was about 4 PM and I expected that Aidan would have to come back the next day to finish the job. However, that was not the case. Aidan quickly confirmed his supplier had the right motor in stock, drove across the city in rush hour traffic and then returned and finished the repair, which took him until about 6:30 that evening.

While we were charged the agreed up cost of the service call, we were not charged overtime or anything else for the extra time. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the service we received.

I very recently had some HVAC work done by Distinct at my home and I am was very impressed by not only the quality of the equipment that was installed, but by the quality of work that was done, from the initial visit by Nate for the estimate, along with a VERY detailed and thorough run through of the equipment that would be installed and the level of workmanship one can expect from Distinct, to the very high quality of work done on the installation by Nate's crew, Kristian and Jaden. A++ work, fellas!

My scope of work included the replacement of a 20+ year old mid-efficient gas furnace with a high-efficient modulating York gas furnace along with a York air-source heat pump. We had never had AC at our house before and I was intrigued by the concept of a cold climate rated heat pump, not only being able to reduce our carbon footprint, but also perhaps leveraging cheaper electricity rates to heat our home during cooler weather with the ASHP, and cool our home during the summer months.

Kristian and Jaden did a great job installing our new heat pump and high efficiency modulating furnace. Very courteous and professional, and a nice, clean install inside and out. They also integrated the new condensate drains with existing condensate and humidifier drains, to a new single outflow pipe to the floor drain.

This is the best company we have ever used for our furnace and AC. They replaced our furnace and trained us on the new thermostat. The place is even cleaner now than it was before they came. Kristian and Jordan were here alone most of the day and we had no concerns. Everyone that works with Distinct is trustworthy, professional and REALLY REALLY well trained. I recommend them to everyone I know.
